Lord Ullin's Daughter

The story Lord Ullin's Daughter  pirouette around the theme of love and sacrifice portrayed through a narrative involving a chieftain ,his beloved, the king and others . the poem unfolds the story of the attempted elopement resulting in the death of the couple. Well structured and set in a lyrical tone with a regular rhyme scheme, the poem has a curious beginning, a terrifying middle and a tragic end.

The love of Lord Ullin's daughter and the chieftain was abiding like that of Romeo and Julliet, Heer and Ranjha, Dauna and Paula, etc. They both left their houses to live together, this shows their love and endearment towards each other but the thing they did was totally wrong. They should have faced their parents. This step of their's resulted in a journey with a woeful end. They ran, ran and ran and after three days they embarked a boat to cross Lochgyle. At that time the weather was fulminate against the lovers. After knowing these things also, they wanted to cross Lochgyle so that they could escape her father's men. This shows that love cares for nothing, but this was not their bravery but their folly because crossing a sea in thunderstorm is next to impossible . So their love/foolishness whatever we say led to a woeful end of their love story. Her father thinking himself the reason of his daughter's death never lived happily. This shows how a inapt step of two people made the life of many people dejected...

So with a beautiful quote i would like to conclude my blog , and the quote goes like this;-
"Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead".
